QUETTA: A top-level meeting discussed speedy implementation of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) and decided that projects should be launched across the province without delay.

The meeting, presided over by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani, was informed that in a rare move in the history of province an amount of Rs6 billion was released two months before the budget was unveiled.

Mr Alyani expressed satisfaction over new development plans and stressed the need for balanced and earnest policies to ensure fruits of development reached the masses of the province.

“Breaking tradition of previous governments, we have decided to commence new development schemes in the first week of September and the people would see launching of grand development projects in the next two to three months.

The chief minister directed all departments to finalise PC1 of all projects and get them approved from the P&D department.

The secretary of communications briefed the meeting about the construction of various highways, buildings and sports complex across the province.

Mr Alyani directed authorities concerned to ensure use of top quality material in construction of all projects.

He directed officials concerned to review proposal for establishing new toll plazas on newly- constructed highways to generate funds for the provincial government.
