KHUZDAR: A couple was shot dead in Mastung town on Thursday, Levies officials said.

Armed men barged into a house in Kandawa village on the outskirts of Mastung and opened indiscriminate fire on the husband and wife, killing them on the spot.

Levies personnel rushed to the scene of the crime and shifted the bodies to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial hospital.

The attackers escaped after the incident.

“The cause of the killings is not known so far,” Mastung Assistant Commissioner Habibur Rehman Luni said, adding that investigation into the matter was under way. He identified the deceased man as Inayatullah Mengal, a resident of Dera Murad Jamali.
