TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami chief and Senator Sirajul Haq on Wednesday asked the government to adopt a clear stand on Kashmir issue instead of confusing the nation through controversial statements.

He was addressing an Eid Milan Party arranged by the party’s Lower Dir chapter in his native village, Samar Bagh, here.

JI provincial general secretary Abdul Wasi, Lower Dir emir Izazul Mulk Afkari and leader Najamullah also spoke on the occasion.

Mr Siraj said the government should expose the real face of India in front of the world through effective diplomacy.

“The government should come out of the confused state on Kashmir and force the world to break its silence on the mass massacre in the India-held Kashmir,” he said.

The JI leader said the Indian forces had turned the occupied Kashmir into a prison for residents.

He criticised the PTI government for poor policies and said it appeared to be the continuation of the previous failed governments.

Mr Siraj said instead of pleading Pakistan’s case on Kashmir, the Pakistani foreign minister had been rubbing salt into the wounds of Kashmiris.

He said around 300,000 Kashmiris had rendered life to seek the right to self-determination.

The JI chief said the future of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and solidarity of Pakistan was at stake.

He announced that his party had planned countrywide protests against the atrocities of Indian forces in Kashmir.

Mr Siraj said hoping for any positive move from US president Donald Trump about Kashmir was a joke.

He said Pakistan should wake up the slumbering Muslim world to raise voice for Kashmiri Muslims.

“History will never forget these rulers if they leave Kashmiris alone in trouble,” he said.
