MURREE: The city traffic police have chalked out a plan for Eidul Azha and Independence Day, a police spokesman said on Saturday.

Leaves of all traffic wardens and other staffers have been cancelled and additional traffic police would be deployed, he said.

Commuters would be allowed to use both Rawalpindi-Murree-Kashmir (RMK) Road and Murree Expressway, but heavy traffic would not be allowed from 7am to 1am.

He said View Fourth Road, Hall Road, Imtiaz Shaheed Road and Kuldanna Road have been declared one-way, whereas around GPO, from GPO to Girls Degree College, from GPO to Cecil Resort and Marhaba Chowk would be no-parking areas.

Traffic for Kashmir would use Expressway while people going to Galyat would use RMK. Hand carts and beggars would not be allowed near GPO Chowk.

According to the spokesperson, 14 police pickets would be set up to control the flow of traffic and guide tourists on Expressway near Satra Meel Toll Plaza, Mussiyari, Lower Topa, Shwala, Jika Gali, Dewal, Barriyan, Bansra Gali, Kuldanna, Salgran and other places.
