ISLAMABAD: Police booked unidentified persons in a case registered on Wednesday after banners welcoming New Delhi’s decision to revoke India-held Kashmir’s special status were found at a number of places in Islamabad the previous day.

The case was registered at Kohsar police station only, even though the banners were found at spots falling within the jurisdiction of several police stations.

The Kohsar police registered the case upon a complaint by Ghulam Murtaza Chandio, a magistrate, under sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant) and 153 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The sections carry a jail term of six months.

On Wednesday, police were finally able to trace the person who printed the panaflex in Blue Area.

After having been taken in custody, he disclosed that a resident of Gujranwala, who himself owns a printing press, had ordered preparation of the anti-Pakistan banners.

Police later picked up more persons and the administration sealed the printing press.
