KOHAT: The Hangu police arrested two kidnappers and recovered a man from their captivity after exchange of fire in Marof Banda area on Wednesday.

The police seized the car used in the crime and a pistol with cartridges.

SHO Shah Doran told reporters that Mujahid Zada was taken away from a street in a car a few days ago. He said district police officer Ehsanullah after getting information from relatives about the presence of the victim in the house of kidnappers had ordered an operation.

The SHO said when the police surrounded the said house and challenged the kidnappers namely Rizwan Zada and Wazir Zada to come out by dropping their weapons they started firing at the police which was retaliated. After exchange of fire for some time, the outlaws were overpowered.

The kidnappers were shifted to the police station where an FIR was registered against them on the complaint of the victim.

The kidnappers told the police during preliminary investigation that the victim was not ready to pay interest on the money he had borrowed from them, forcing them to abduct him.

OPEN KUTCHERY: Reacting to the complaints of elected members and elders of Bahadar Kot Town, deputy commissioner Matiullah Khan has constituted a committee to probe unscheduled electricity loadshedding and non-delivery of bills to consumers.

He took the measure while addressing an open kutchery in the area on Wednesday.

Village council chairman Khanzada Shiraz Khan, general councillor Mubin Khan Orakzai, additional deputy commissioner Shah Nawaz Naveed, assistant commissioner Furqan Ashraf, ASP Naveed Ahmed and elders were also present.

The people complained of lack of cleanliness, absence of police and excessive power outages and shortage of irrigation and potable water.

The DC ordered the ASP to start patrolling in the area, the representatives of Pesco to deliver bills on time and TMA officials to ensure cleanliness in the area.

He constituted a committee comprising assistant commissioner Furqan Ashraf and additional deputy commissioner Shah Nawaz to look into the problem of loadshedding and report to him within three days.
