MANSEHRA: The provincial government has approved Rs650 million for various development schemes in Mansehra district.

“I called on Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and got Rs650 million funds approved. Of these funds, Rs100 million will be spent on the Oghi Tehsil Headquarters Hospital,” MPA and chairman of the district development advisory committee Nawabzada Fareed told reporters in Oghi on Thursday.

The lawmaker said Rs100 million would be spent on irrigation, public health engineering and education sectors each and Rs150 million on bridges across the district.

He said the government had planned to develop tourist attractions in Oghi, which would create jobs for residents.

Mr Fareed said tourism minister Atif Khan would visit Darband and adjoining union councils to approve some historic sites as tourist designations.

HONESTY STRESSED: Deputy inspector general of police, Hazara range, Mohammad Ali Babakhel on Thursday asked moharrars to be practical and honest while writing first information reports to ensure the punishment of outlaws.

The DIG told the concluding session of the two-day ‘Moharrar Staff Conference’ here that moharrars were considered to be the door to the police department and if they welcomed visitors wholeheartedly, that attitude would not only change the people’s perception about the department but it would increase conviction rate as well.

District police officer Zaibullah Khan said the crime rate was very low in Hazara division.

He said moharrars should learn about all sections of the Criminal Procedure Code and Pakistan Penal Code for the proper FIR registration to ensure good crime investigation and culprits’ punishment.Moharrars from 57 police stations across Hazara region attended the conference and highlighted their issues.
