SWABI: A medical and daycare centre was inaugurated at the Women University Swabi (WUS) on Monday to facilitate over 2,200 students of the varsity and employees.

The centre has been set up in the new campus at Kotha where the university is expected to be shifted soon from the makeshift building at Gulu Dheri.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Khanzadi Fatima Khattak was the chief guest.

On the occasion, she said the centre would offer quality healthcare along with daycare facility to both the employees and the students of the university.

BOY COMMITS SUICIDE: A teenage boy belonging to Bamkhel village committed suicide by consuming insect killing pills on Sunday.

Zohaib Khan, 16, was immediately taken to the district headquarters hospital, Swabi, by the relatives, but he could not survive. The cause of the suicide was a domestic issue.

ABDUCTED CHILD RECOVERED: A four-year-old child, who was abducted for ransom, was recovered on Monday.

The police recovered the minor girl from Sard Cheena area and arrested Majid Khan, who had abducted the child for ransom.

Meanwhile, the police arrested three persons for being involved in cattle theft.

Two days ago, the thieves had stolen three cows and an FIR was registered against unidentified thieves.

SHO Niaz Ali of Parmuli police station told Dawn that they had recovered the three cows from the arrested men. They were identified as Hazrat Ali, Wajid Ali and Qamar Elahi.
