LAHORE: A pregnant woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband in the Sundar area here on Saturday.

Initial reports suggested that Perveen Bibi (35) was mother of four and her husband Shera Masih used to beat her on domestic issues.

On Saturday, Shera again subjected her to torture even knowing that she was pregnant and need extraordinary care, a police official said. Quoting her parents, he said, Shera’s brother also thrashed her and both fled the scene on seeing her in serious condition.

Perveen was rushed to a local hospital where she breathed her last. The parents of the deceased woman later approached the police for action against the offenders.
