AN exempted plot of land in Jauhar Town was allocated vide a letter in lieu of land to Talat Ara Qureshi. She applied for the exemption/allotment letter in March 2010. The said letter, however, was never sent and, unfortunately, she passed away on later that year.
The rights to the said plot were passed on to the legal heirs vide court decree three years later (and incorporated in Lahore Development Authority files). Since then we have been trying to get possession of the said plot but have been told now that as per a letter sent out in 2019 from the deputy director town planning — the allocated plot is missing as per the demarcations of the drawing section.
This is something that has never been heard of before and can only happen in the LDA. Whatever the reason, it is incumbent upon the LDA to allot a replacement plot within Jauhar Town, of comparable value and location immediately to rectify the incompetence/error.
We have already applied for this and request the chairman of the LDA to personally take notice of this incompetence and resolve this issue expeditiously as it has been going on for the last 10 years.
