KARACHI: Askari Alphas and Bounce Club registered the biggest upsets of the tournament and have qualified for the semifinals after defeating their strong opponents in the ongoing SSB Shohada-e-Pakistan basketball tournament at the Arambagh court on Tuesday night.

In the first match, Askari Alphas beat their strong opponents Bahria Club 58-51 in a high scoring encounter.

Brilliant Shahmir Zaheer of the winning side was on the rampage in the courts and scored 21 points. He was well assisted by Syed Bakhtiar who scored 16 valauble points while Anas scored 13 points.

For the losing side, Aun Muhammad Akram scored 17 points while Hamad Waseem scored 14 points and Taimur Shahid 13 points.

In the second match, Bounce Club totally outclassed one of the strong teams of the tournament Nishter Club in a one sided encounter with a big margin 51-34 and qualified for the semi finals.

Leading scorers for the winners were Zia Ahmed 14 points, Saifullah Nosherwani 13 points, and Muhammad Mubashir 11 and Mohsin Ali 10 points.

For the losers, Talha Amjad 12 points, Muhammad Shabbar scored 1o points while Chenway scored 8 points.
