CHARSADDA: Shabqaddar police foiled a sabotage attempt by recovering huge cache of explosives from a deserted marble factory in Khwaja Was area here on Monday.

According to police, the miscreants had dumped the explosives in the deserted marble factory for sabotage activities.

The action was taken on the directives of DPO Irfanullah Khan Marwat after he got a tip-off that a huge quantity of explosives had been hidden in the deserted marble factory. A police party led by Shabqadar DSP Mohammad Riaz and personnel of bomb disposal unit raided the marble factory and recovered 1,600 explosive sticks, 20kg explosives packed in plastic bags and 50 safety fuses.

The police lodged FIR against unknown miscreants affiliated with the militant organisations and started investigations.

Meanwhile, a man killed his brother and sister-in-law over a women dispute in Gulabad, Sardaryab.

Arshad Ali, son of Shashti Gul, reported to the Charsadda city police that his brother, Jawher Iqbal along with his son, Hassan Badshah and others opened fire on his brother, Majid and his wife, killing them on the spot.

The police registered double murder case against accused persons and started investigation.
