RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has asked police, Special Branch and Counter-Terrorism Department to provide details of criminal record against five individuals, including PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah.

According to sources, following the demand by the ANF regional directorate Lahore Cantonment, the additional inspector general of police (operations) directed the Special Branch, CTD and all the divisional and city police chiefs to gather the details of criminal cases, if any, registered against the persons and send it to his office by July 15.

When a senior police official was contacted, he said no such criminal case was registered against any of the five individuals with the Rawalpindi district police.

The ANF arrested PML-N Punjab president Rana Sanaullah along with four other people for “possessing a huge quantity of drugs in his vehicle” early this month. Meanwhile, a five-member special team of the ANF headed by its senior director headquarters on Monday investigated all the five people, including Rana Sanaullah, in the district jail Lahore.

A spokesman for the ANF said in a press release that the suspects arrested in a drug trafficking case were investigated in the jail after seeking orders from court.
