BUNER: Three women and two children were killed and nine others suffered injuries in different road accidents in Buner district on Saturday.

In the first incident, three members of a family, including a woman and her two grandchildren, were killed and a man was injured when a jeep they were travelling in fell into a ravine in Durmai Pass area in Chinglai Khadukhel.

The passengers travelling in other vehicles and the personnel deputed at Durmai Pass police checkpost rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies and the injured man from the ravine.

The victims included a 50-year-old woman, her granddaughter Hamsa, 14, and grandson Hamdan, 10.

The injured man was identified as Qaisar Khan, 60.

In another incident, a woman was killed and three others were injured when a car skidded off the road and plunged into a ravine in Kalil Kandaw area.

Locals and police shifted the dead and the injured to hospital.

Also, a woman was killed and three children and a man were injured when a car they were travelling in went out of driver’s control and fell into a gorge in Totianu Kara area of Chaghorzai.

The police and locals shifted the victim and the injured to hospital.
