BUNER: Two women of a family were killed and two others suffered serious burns while trying to put out a wildfire that started outside their house in remote Jabo Chaghorzai area of Buner district, locals said on Friday.

They said the bush fire had erupted outside the house of Sharon Khan when the male members of the family were away. The women present in the house started extinguishing the fire, but four of them sustained burns.

Two of the injured women died while being shifted to hospital, while the two others were shifted to a major hospital in Peshawar. The deceased were identified as Shaheen Bibi and Sonia Bibi. The injured were Asia Bibi and Razia Bibi.

A family member, Shamroz Khan, said the locals rushed to the house soon after the incident and shifted the women to hospital.

It is to mention here that wildfires erupted at more than five points in last three weeks have destroyed precious trees.
