MINGORA/TIMERGARA: Girls shined in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual examination results announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Swat, here on Friday.

The results were announced by controller of examinations Umer Hussain at a ceremony held at the BISE office.

Secretary education Arshad Khan, chairman BISE Prof Syed Nabi Shah and DDAC chairman Fazal Hakim Khan also addressed the ceremony. The top three students were also awarded with gold medals and shields.

In the science group, Kiran Khalil of Tipu Model School College grabbed first position by securing 1,052 marks, Shabir Ahmad of Swat Public School and College secured 1,048 marks and was declared second, while Zaheerudin of Al-Azhar Educational Institute got third position by securing 1,047 marks.

In the general group, Ms Imarat bagged 921 marks and secured first position, Ms Habiba secured second position by obtaining 915 marks while Bushra grabbed third position by securing 914 marks. All the three belonged to government girls schools.

The pass percentage in grade 10 examination results remained 90 per cent.

Meanwhile, students of private educational institutions bagged the top three positions in the SSC examination results announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Malakand Chakdara, the other day.

In the science group, Mohammad Yasin of Oxford Education Academy, Batkhela, got first position by securing 1,062 marks, Kalimullah of Shaheen Model School, Wari Upper Dir, stood second, getting 1,043 marks while two students, Peer Hamza Khan of Malakand Public School and College, Dargai, and Alisha Bibi of Allama Iqbal School and College, Sakhakot Malakand, shared the third position, securing 1,042 marks each.

In humanities group, the top three positions were clinched by Muhsinat Academy Sangolai, Lower Dir. Asmat Bibi bagged 1,025 marks and stood first, Hamina Bibi stood second with 1,000 marks and Meezan Bibi bagged third sport with 996 marks.

The overall success rate remained 89.11 per cent in the grade 10th examination results.
