Opposition wants to topple govt, not democracy: Zardari

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said on Thursday that the opposition wanted to topple the government, but not the democratic system.
Talking to media persons at Parliament House, he described the recent multi-party conference as successful and said the opposition parties would devise a joint strategy which would bring ‘good news’ for the nation.
In reply to a question about the Balochistan National Party-Mengal, Mr Zardari said: “We did not ask Akhtar Mengal to vote for us and we have no worries that he had supported the government.”
Talking about the government’s move to file references against two judges of superior courts, the PPP co-chairman said he knew that the judges were under immense pressure, but it was a fact that he had raised their salaries. He said the prices of essential commodities had gone up in the country due to faulty policies of the government.
Answering a question regarding the opposition’s plan to get Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani removed, Mr Zardari said the opposition had required number of votes in the upper house for his removal constitutionally.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan had done ‘injustice’ by not personally receiving Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on his official visit to Pakistan.

With all their shortcomings, the PPP completed its term. It is really distressing to note that senior politicians in Pakistan think that if they are not in power then the best thing to do is topple the current government.
What is needed now is that all who believe in and love Pakistan irrespective of their affiliations should work together and sacrifice to get the country out of the ditch.
Will Mr Az sacrifice and bring back a few billion dollars, the exchange rate is very good!

Establishment is the main source of power in this country. Let this government complete its mandate; judge them on their promises after 5 years. Be patient. It is not even one year it! No one has a magic wand to undo the damage done by so many years of misrule in the past overnight. One thing is for sure establishment is in no mood or hurry to hand over power back to the looters of PML-N and PPP otherwise we will be back to square 1.

If we talk about the last 10 yrs, Zardari's govt was the worst performer and NS did a wonderful job (Peace across Pakistan, Karachi operation, Zarb e Azb, GDP 5.8).
Now the people voted for IK and with his 11 month performance, we are getting to believe that he is even worse in performance compared to Zardari Govt. They have shattered people dreams with utmost brutality and the irony is, they keep on spreading false information.
Govt cant run like this. WAKE UP before its toooo late

@Aamir Lucky, there may be many dissappointed pti voters however no matter how dissappointed a pti voter is he will never support zardari. They would rather not vote.
Personally i would accept hardship and difficult times for the next twenty years as long as i know that the goverment was honest and sincere in uplifting and rebuilding pakistan rather then accepting the corruption and looting that was prevalent when these bandits were in charge.

Toppling of a govt is not democracy. Today zardari wants to give the word democracy its true meaning, the rule of the jungle. As democracy means rule by the people, for the people, with the people. But when looters get together to try and topple an peoole's elected government that becomes the rule of the mob which is a junglish attempt in actual fact. He is afraid that he is now cornered and cannot escape his fate so create anarchy. He and his co-conspirators who diesel heads are now exposed.
