Swabi students get top positions in Mardan board exams

MARDAN: Asif Iqbal of Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College, Swabi, has secured top position in the results of secondary school certificate, 2019, annual examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mardan, by obtaining 1,065 marks.

The BISE controller of examinations, Rashid Gul, announced the results of examinations of grade 10th and 9th at a ceremony here on Thursday.

Senior provincial minister for tourism and sports Mohammad Atif Khan was the chief guest on the occasion. The students who got top positions attended the function along with their teachers and parents.

Announcing the results, Mr Gul said that Asif Iqbal of Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College, Swabi, clinched top position by getting 1,065 marks, Mohammad Nabeel Khan of Quaid-i-Azam Public School Zaida, Swabi, stood second with 1,064 marks and Mah Noor Inam of Al-Badar Model School Shewa Adda, Swabi, got the third position. He said that all the top three positions were grabbed by students of the science group.

In humanities group, two sisters, Muneeba Umair and Iqra Uzair who appeared in the SSC examinations as private students, secured the first position with 978 marks and second position with 950 marks, respectively, while Humera Hassan of Government Girls High School Kotli Kalan, Nowshera, obtained third position by getting 948 marks.

Mr Gul said that a total of 45,523 candidates of science group appeared in the examinations of which 41,313 were declared successful. He said that a total of 20,236 candidates of arts group appeared in the exams of which 13,897 were declared successful.

Speaking on the occasion, the senior minister said that the provincial government was committed to boosting education system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that consultation was going on among the stakeholders to appoint a permanent chairman of BISE, Mardan.
