MARDAN/KARAK: Bodies of two minor boys were recovered from a nullah and a small dam in Mardan and Karak districts on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 officials and locals recovered the body of five-year-old boy from a nullah in Katlang area of Mardan 16 hours after he drowned.

The rescue officials said a rickshaw, carrying six persons of a family, had fallen into the nullah on Tuesday night. They said two women and two children succeeded to come out of water, but two other children identified as Ahmad, 5, and Mehwish, 10, drowned.

The rescue officials and locals found the body of Mehwish sometime after the incident, while the body of Ahmad was found in Sankai area some four kilometres from the accident place.

Meanwhile, body of a boy, who had drowned in Sharqi dam in Karak two days ago, was fished out by local divers on Wednesday. Police said the victim, a second grade student, was grazing cattle near Sharqi dam. He drowned while trying to catch fish.
