SHANGLA: District police officer Syed Rasool Shah has claimed that private schools in Shangla have agreed that they will impart free education to the children of police martyrs.

A statement issued from the DPO office here on Wednesday said that meetings were arranged by the respective sub-divisional police officers with private schools management in Bisham, Alpuri, Puran, Chakesar, Kana and Martung tehsils the other day.

On the request of police officers, the management of all private schools agreed that they would give free education to children of the martyred police personnel.

According to the statement, 79 children of the police martyred are school-going in Shangla. It said the private schools would give free education to these children from class one to matriculation.

FIREMAN KILLED: A fireman was killed and another injured when they were hit by a speeding passenger coach in Seror area of Bisham tehsil.

According to TMA officials, both the firemen were returning on a motorcycle to their duty place from their native Bahlol Khel area of Martung tehsil.

The deceased was named Mukrram and the injured Abdul Aziz. Police said the coach driver fled the scene. The firemen have been associated with TMA Bisham for a year.

Meanwhile, the local residents demanded of the law enforcement agencies to take action against the driver of the passenger coach.
