THIS refers to the mushroom growth of illegal, unplanned, unregistered private tuition centres in residential, commercial and even in industrial areas of Islamabad.

These private tuition centres have no registration with any government agencies like the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority, local administration, the Federal Board of Revenue (for tax purpose), the Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan or any other agency.

These centres have no appropriate space, academic environment, proper checks on cleanliness and approved fee structure for running their business.

Moreover, no arrangements have been made by these illegal private tuition centres for any emergency situation like earthquake, fire and even a terrorist attack. It is observed that in a single shift thousands of students are enrolled.

Among these institutions is one located at main Sawan Road, sector G-10, Markaz, Islamabad, and its other branch at Block No. 40 I&T Centre, sector G-10/4, Islamabad. The tuition centre is running a school and college in the morning, while in the evening it runs an illegal tuition centre.

The government should look into the matter.
