QUETTA: The president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Balochistan chapter, retired Gen Abdul Qadir Baloch, has rejected the budget presented by the federal government for the financial year 2019-20.

Talking to the PML-N leaders and workers here on Sunday, he said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government has failed to provide any relief to people in its first budget. Mr Baloch said the PTI leadership and ministers of the federal cabinet did not have capability to bring the country out of its financial crisis and face other challenges.

He said the government had started victimising its political rivals in the name of accountability. The PML-N leadership would come out clean against the PTI leaders’ fake and baseless allegations, he added.

Mr Baloch said the rulers who came to power through rigged elections had failed in managing the affairs of the country. Due to their failure, the country was running through acute economical crisis, he said.

“Instead of giving relief to poor sections of society, the government has imposed several new taxes.”

He said the government had put extra burden on the salaried class in the budget by increasing their tax liability.

Mr Baloch said PML-N leaders could not be kept away from the people by putting them behind the bars.
