GUJRAT: Police claimed on Saturday to have found a three-year-old boy who had gone missing from the street of his house in Lalamusa on June 11.

Gujrat District Police Officer Syed Ali Mohsin told Dawn that Tabish Naveed had been freed by the suspects involved in the kidnapping. They left the boy near his residence and he was recognised by a shopkeeper who reported it to police.

The Police, he said, detained two suspects who were allegedly involved in child abuse cases in the area and they were being investigated by the police.

The district police officer said a case had already been registered against unidentified suspects under Section 365 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the report of Sikandar Khan, the grandfather of the boy.

POLICE MOBILE: Police have launched a mobile van service for issuance of 15 certificates and licences to facilitate the people belonging to the far-flung rural areas of Gujrat district.

The van has been designed to make three counters. It has cameras, computers, cash counter and other such facilities where three police officials will be present to provide the services to the applicants in their respective areas.

DPO Syed Ali Mohsin inaugurated the mobile van service at a ceremony at the Police Lines.

The applicants can apply for character certificate, general police verification, vehicle clearance, lost documents, information about any crime, online provision of a copy of FIR, driving licence and other facilities.
