KARACHI, July 18: Zone-IV Whites and Zone-III Blues won their respective matches in the KCCA Under-15 Inter-zonal cricket tournament on Sunday. Zone-IV Whites cored an easy 97-run victory over Zone-VII Greens at the Pak Star ground. Batting first, Zone-IV Whites reached 172 for five in their 50 overs. The highlights of their innings was a superb 133-run fifth-wicket partnership between Irfan Hasan (68, five fours) and Mohammad Hassan (66 not out, six fours).

Zone-VII Greens, in reply, crashed to 76 all out in 38 overs. Shahzaib Khan took three for 15 and Ali Hasan two for nine.

In the other match at Landhi Gymkhana ground, Zone-III Blues beat Zone-V Blues by 58 runs thanks to paceman Maroof Aziz, who captured five for 44.

Zone-III Blues, batting first, made 246 for nine in 50 overs with Mohammad Ahmed hitting 72, including six boundaries.

Zone-V Blues were bowled out for 188 in the 49th over despite a defiant 86 by Owais Ahmed, who struck six fours.
