ISLAMABAD: Traffic police have devised a traffic plan for Yaum-i-Ali’s procession on Sunday, police said.

The diversion plan has been made to ensure smooth follow of traffic, not to inconvenience residents and participants of the procession.

The procession is scheduled to be taken out from Imambargah Qasr-i-Zainabia, G-6/4, at around 4pm and concluded at imambargah, G-6/2, at around 7:30pm, police said, adding that the diversion plan would be put in place at 3pm.

About 70 traffic police officials from constables to inspectors’ level will perform duty at the diversion and no-entry, they said, adding that few roads in and around G-6 would be blocked.

From 3pm to 7:30pm, roads, including the press club underpass, Gali No. 57, G-6/4, a portion of Shaheed-i-Millat, Gali No. 73, Begum Sarfaraz Road and a portion of Fazal-i-Haq Road from Polyclinic to Kulsoom Plaza will remain closed, police said.

Traffic police would be deployed on road blockades to guide motorists to alternative routes and diversions.
