KARACHI: Neighbourhood Club and One Unit Club have qualified by the final of the ongoing Mehmood Ahmed Khan Trophy Basketball tournament being organized by KBBA in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Welfare Association at Arambagh Basketball courts on Wednesday.

In the first semi-final, Neighbourhood Club overcame their strong opponent Mumba Squad Basketball Club 77-55 in a high scoring contest. Kashif Sarawari 26 and Tashfeen 21 points were on the rampage in the courts while Muhammad Talal scored 14 points. For the losers, Muhammad Talha 16, Saad Abdul Basit 15 and Noman Ahmed 10 points were the main contributors.

In the second semi-final, Neighbuourhood Club beat Licole Bellerz 62-52 in an exciting encounter. PIA pilot Raja Jahanzeb was the forefront in team’s success and scored as many as 26 points. Other contributors to the team’s victory were Abdullah Shah 16 and Hamad N D Khan 8 points.

Earlier players of both teams were introduced to former Minister Prof N D Khan, who was the chief guest on the occasion. KBBA chief Ghulam Muhammad Khan and Abdul Nasir were also present on the occasion.
