BAHAWALNAGAR: Police on Monday arrested a guard of a bus for allegedly raping a 15 year-old girl.

According to Dahranwala SHO Majid Iqbal, the guard lured a 15-year-old girl, who was travelling alone from Dahranwala to Lahore, into a house where he raped her.

He said the girl, a resident of Pakpattan, left her home and reached Bahawalnagar where she boarded a bus for Lahore.

Iqbal said bus guard ‘I’ promised to marry her and asked her to come with him to Dahranwala. The SHO said the suspect took her to a house, allegedly raped her and later left the unconscious girl at Lorry Adda.

The SHO said the girl was shifted to the Chishtian THQ Hospital and after she recorded her statement, the bus guard was arrested. He said the guard had confessed to the rape. The Dahranwala police have lodged a case on the complaint of girl’s father.
