QUETTA: A veteran politician and former deputy speaker of the Balochistan Assembly, Mir Abdul Majeed Bizenjo, was laid to rest in his native town of Jhao in Awaran district on Sunday.

Mir Bizenjo — who was father of the current speaker of the provincial assembly, Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, had passed away in Karachi on Saturday after a prolonged illness.

His coffin was flown to Jhao in the helicopter of the Balochistan government from Karachi.

Provincial ministers, MNAs, MPAs and tribal elders attended his funeral prayers.

The late Mir Bizenjo also served as a provincial minister for livestock.
