SHANGLA: Information minister Shaukat Ali Yousafzai has claimed that the federal government has approved gas supply projects for Shangla.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted to boost tourism in Shangla district and has promised to give funds for its development. He said the PM had also asked the minister for tourism to include Shangla’s picturesque places in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s officially declared tourist spots.

Mr Yousafzai said the PM had also assured him that electricity related problems of the people would be resolved on priority.

“I will visit parts of Shangla along with tourism minister Atif Khan after Eidul Fitr to explore the scenic places in hilly areas with a view to exploiting their tourism potential,” he said.

He claimed that gas supply project would be initiated in Bisham city, Alpuri and Shahpur. He said an SNGPL team would conduct a survey for selecting the sites for laying the pipeline.
