OKARA: As many as 12 men on Wednesday attacked a raiding team and got their accomplice released from police custody at Rajowal village.

Hujra Shah Muqeem police post incharge ASI Muhammad Akram along with his team raided Rajowal and took suspect Mushtaq alias Taqu into custody in connection with a case registered against him.

In the meantime, a group of villagers, including Mukhtiar, Kashif and Bilal along with nine unidentified men attacked the police team and got Mushtaq released. The suspects threatened the police with dire consequences and and damaged the mobile van.

On the report of ASI Akram, Mandi Ahmadabad police have registered a case under sections 225, 224, 353, 186, 427, 506-B, 148 and 149 of PPC.
