KOHAT: Four people, including a man and his wife, were killed and nine others injured in a road accident on the Indus Highway near Muslimabad checkpost here on Thursday.

Two bodies had been placed in the KDA Teaching Hospital for identification after the postmortem of all the deceased. Bodies of the couple identified as Hameedullah and Basmeen Bibi was handed over to their relatives from Bannu district. The injured were taken to the hospital by Rescue 1122 ambulances from the scene.

The accident occurred when a coach coming from Peshawar to Bannu collided with a truck and a car after going out of control of the driver in front of Khyber hotel. The vehicles were impounded and a case was registered in the Jarma police station.

The district police officer, chief of Rescue 1122 staff and other relevant officials also reached the scene and supervised the rescue work.

The officials inquired about the health of the injured in the hospital and asked the staff to provide proper treatment facilities to them.

The injured, all residents of Bannu, were identified as Bilal, Sardaraz, Zakeem Hussain, Mohammad Raza Shah, Karamatullah, Naveed, Sajjad, Mohammad Kamran and Mohammad Anwar.
