MANSEHRA: The police booked a doctor and a medical technician of a private clinic after death of a young girl on Sunday.

“We have booked a doctor and a medical technician after a young girl taken to a private clinic died instantly when she was given an injection,” Yasir Khan, SHO Garhi Habibullah police station, said.

Alishba, 14, was taken to a private clinic in Garhi Habibullah after she suffered abdominal pain but she died instantly when technician Abdul Salam administered an injection to her on the prescription of Dr Danial.

Afterwards, her family members and local residents stormed the clinic and smashed windowpanes and doors.

The protesters were demanded arrest and registration of FIR against those allegedly responsible for her death.

The police took all the staff members into custody to defuse the tension.

Perveen Bibi, lodging FIR with police, stated that she had taken her daughter to the clinic when she complained about abdominal pain, but the doctor and a technician administered her wrong injection, which caused her death.

The SHO said Dr Danial and technician Salam were booked under section 322 of PPC, but they had got a pre-arrest bail from a local court.

He said the postmortem of the deceased girl was also performed and organs samples were collected and dispatched to a laboratory in Peshawar for forensic analysis.
