NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: The FIR of the murder of Pad Eidan Press Club secretary Ali Sher Rajpar was registered against town committee chairman Habib Rajper, Ghulam Ali Rajper and two others at the Pad Eidan police station on Sunday.

Ali Sher, a journalist associated with Sindhi daily Awami Awaz, was shot dead while he was returning home from the press club late on Saturday evening.

Unknown armed men intercepted and shot dead him, onlookers said. His brother, Dawood Rajper, lodged the FIR stating that the suspects had been threatening him with dire consequences after he filed some reports against them which were published in the newspaper a few days back.

Meanwhile, journalists in several towns of Naushahro Feroze, Nawabshah, Badin, Tharparkar, Khairpur and other districts held protest demonstrations on Sunday against the murder of Ali Sher Rajpar.
