FAISALABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) raided medicine company shops in Chiniot Bazaar and seized hundreds of tablets and injections meant for government hospitals on Saturday.

On a tip-off, an FIA raiding team led by Deputy Director Jamil Ahmad Khan Mayo and Assistant Director Mian Sabir conducted a raid at Havi Medicine Company, Shadab Plaza, in Chiniot Bazaar and arrested a person with a number of medicines.

The raid was conducted on the direction of FIA Director Punjab zone-II Dr Muhammad Tariq Rustum Chohan. Some of the medicines’ labels were rubbed and at one medicine (MonoFer-1250 injections) had a label stating, “Supplied by Health Department- Not for Sale”.

A case has been registered against Ghulam Mustafa (proprietor), Muhammad Hussain, dispenser Rehman Saleem and other co-accused.
