HYDERABAD: The 6th Inter-divisional Softball Cham­pionship will commence here on Friday (today) at the Hyderabad Club. All matches will be played under floodlights in the championship which has been organised by Sindh Softball Association (SSA) in collaboration with Sindh Department of Sports and Youth Affairs and Hyderabad Divisional Administration.

Six divisional teams are competing the in the championship which have been divided into two groups. Group A comprises defending champions and host Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Sukkur while Group B includes Karachi, Larkana and Benazirabad.

The opening match will be played between Sukkur and Hyderabad.

SSA secretary general Zeeshan Merchant said on Thursday that all the teams have been provided kits and equipment from Sindh Dept of Sports besides fine boarding and lodging facilities in the city.

He offered special thanks to Secretary Sports Sindh Akhtar Hussain Bugti and Commissioner Hyderabad Abbas Baloch for their tremendous cooperation and help in organising the championship.
