KARACHI: Brilliant Farhan Altaf overcame stiff challenge from Zubair Raja in the mens singles final to win the title in style at the third ACE Travels Sindh Ranking Tennis Championship which concluded here at the Union Club on Friday.

Farhan displayed fabulous tennis with serves and baseline shots but Zubair proved too good to win the first set. However, Farhan bounced to win the next two sets to win the title.

In the under-11 singles final, Zain Ehtisham outclassed Ahsan Ahmaed in straight sets. In the mixed doubles, the talented pair of Eibad Sarwar and Erij Batool beat Qudsia Raja and Zuabair Raja 5-3. Eibad was once again brilliant in the mens doubles contest when he paired successfully with Murtaza to beat the duo of Vinod Das and Fahad Khan 8-3.

Aslam Khan was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed the prizes. PTF vice president Khalid Rahmani announced that two national level combined PTF Grade I tournament carrying bumper prize money of Rs 600,000 will be held after Eid in June-July.

Results:

Mens Singles (final): Farhan Altaf bt Zubair Raja 1-6, 6-3, 10-4

U -11 Singles (final): Zain Ehtisham bt Ahsan Ahmed 4-0 4-0

Soft Tennis Mixed Doubles (round robin): Eibad Sarwar + Erij Batool bt Qudsia Raja + Zubair Raja 5-3

Mens Doubles (round robin): Eibad Sarwar + Murtaza bt Vinot Das + Fahad Khan 8-3.
