Youth kills sister for ‘honour’

TOBA TEK SINGH: Gojra Saddar police have arrested on Thursday a youth for allegedly killing his 16-year-old sister for “honour” at Chak 351-JB, Kalyan Daas village, Gojra.

As per the FIR registered on the report of his uncle, Muhammad Iqbal, the victim, Sumaira Bibi, was present at home when her brother, Muhammad Usman (20), allegedly shot her in the head, killing her on the spot.

The police said the suspect had suspicions about his sister’s character and he murdered her for “honour”.

RAPED: A poor married woman was allegedly raped by a man at Chak 420-JB on Thursday.

Police said the woman was alone at her house as her husband Yaqub, a labourer, had gone to Gojra.

Meanwhile, the suspect and his friend forced their entry into the house.

The suspect raped the woman at gunpoint, while his friend remained outside the room. Later, both the men fled away, the police said.

The victim was shifted to the Gojra Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where doctors after examining her confirmed the woman was subjected to sexual assault.

Police were conducting raids to arrest the suspects.
