LAHORE: Navy, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Punjab, Army and Police all won their matches in the NDURE National Volleyball Championship at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex here on Wednesday.

Navy faced marginal resistance against Islamabad before winning 25-13, 25-16, 25-15. PAF overpowered Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) 25-15, 25-19, 25-22.

The POF lads made some excellent smashes and serves in the second and third games but the experienced and more-skilled airmen intercepted their attacks effectively.

The third match between HEC and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a thrilling affair in which Khyber Pakhtunkhwa demonstrated excellent stamina but lack of experience cost them dearly as HEC won 25-22, 25-21, 25-21.

In the next fixture, Sindh fought back superbly in the second set but still lost to arch-rivals Punjab 25-19, 30-28, 25-20.

In the remaining two matches, Police defeated Balochistan 25-18, 25-11, 25-12 while Army sealed a 25-10, 25-20, 25-16 victory over Fata.
