RAWALPINDI: The government will set up 10 health camps in Rawalpindi district during immunisation week from April 24 to April 30.

The week is being observed to promote the use of vaccines among mother and child to protect them from diseases.

This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Ch Mohammad Ali Randhawa while addressing a seminar held here at a hotel in connection with world immunisation week 2019 on Monday.

The deputy commissioner said that vaccines and other important kits had been provided to all government hospitals in addition to imparting training to the health workers.

He said vaccination saved thousands of people’s lives annually but due to lack of awareness and poverty in Pakistan parents could not properly vaccinate their children despite the fact that vaccines were available at all government hospital free of cost.

The deputy commissioner said there had been no mechanisms in the world and even in Pakistan to locate such children or house whose residents have not been immunized.

He also said according to world health standard and researches, there had been no side effects of immunisation if it repeated again. He urged the parents to immunise their children during the ongoing vaccination campaign to save the future of Pakistan.
