Quetta attack

Published April 14, 2019

THE Hazara community in Quetta was targeted once again on Friday morning. According to reports, more than 16 people were killed while many others were injured.

This community has been targeted by militants over and over again but the authorities do not take action against the terrorists. The police claim that they are investigating the attack. The chief minister says the attackers didn’t intend to target the Hazaras — they just happened to be there in large numbers. How convenient!

It alarms me that Friday’s attack took place in a grocer’s shop as the attackers had hidden an improvised explosive device in a sack of potatoes. Are we supposed to look into every bag or item we bring home or before we buy it?

We live in uncertain times and if the government does not take action now, I fear the worst is yet to come.
