ISLAMABAD: Marghazar zoo welcomed a baby zebra and named it Plintoff.

Zoo officials said the female zebra gave birth to a male foal on Thursday. They said both the animals were doing well and were available for public viewing.

“The new born remained an attraction for visitors on Friday, particularly children,” Director Zoo and Wildlife Rana Tahir said. He said with the addition of Plintoff, the zoo now had a total of five zebras. On Friday, two of them were shifted to the F-8 enclosure, he added.

Earlier, there were only a few pairs of deer in the F-8 enclosure. Now, two zebras have also been added.

“The foal is healthy and is being provided care,” the director said.
