Two oil company workers shot dead in N. Waziristan

MIRAMSHAH: Two workers of an oil exploration company were killed and two others, including a driver, were wounded in Speen Wam area of North Waziristan tribal district late on Wednesday night.

Local officials confirmed the death of two workers of the company. The attack was carried out in Chota Datakhel area near Afghan border. They said that unidentified gunmen opened fire which resulted in the death of the two workers while two others sustained bullet injuries.

Security forces started a search operation after the incident. However, no arrest has been made so far. The company has started survey in the Speen Wam area to find deposits of oil and gas.

In another incident, masked men opened fire on a man in Spelga village here on Thursday. The man identified as Noor Ullah, received serious bullet injuries and was taken to a hospital.
