EARLIER the Sindh Public Service Commission had announced that the Combined Competitive Examination-2019 (CCE-2019) would be conducted in different centres across the province to facilitate candidates.

Candidates chose the centres they preferred as per the CCE pro forma. Some chose Karachi while some opted for Sukkur and Larkana. They had everything planned – accommodation and transportation, some of them rented flats and rooms and paid a hefty advance. But at the eleventh hour, the SPSC uploaded the revised timetable for the said examination which shows that all candidates have to appear for CCE-2019 in Hyderabad.

This SPSC decision has shocked the candidates. More than 500 candidates from Karachi, 403 from Sukkur and 304 from Larkana will have to suffer the challenges of accommodation and transportation as hotel and guesthouse prices are skyrocketing.

More than 400 female students across the province will have to suffer for this unexpected decision.

I request the SPSC to reconsider the decision and announce an alternative to facilitate the students instead of creating problems for this. The sentence in the press release issued by the SPSC said: “Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted” should be replaced with “any suggestions to solve the issue will be highly appreciated”.

Hope, the SPSC will find a solution and give relief to the already unemployed candidates.
