ZTBL, SBP to clash in women’s T20 final

KARACHI: As expected Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) qualified of the final of second Inter-departmental T20 Women’s Cricket Championship after both won their last-round league fixtures in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The title-deciding match will be staged at the Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad at 9:30am. ZTBL defeated the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) XI by seven wickets.

PCB XI folded up for a measly 80 in 19.5 overs with Almas Akram capturing three wickets for 10 runs. Sana Mir and Nida Dar both chipped in with 27 apiece as ZTBL reached the modest target in 11 overs.

In the other game, An unbroken 153-run partnership between Sidra Amin and Hafsa Khalid enabled SBP collect to 167-1 against the Higher Education Commission (HEC), who lost by 30 runs.

Sidra hit up 86 off 53 balls with the help of 14 boundaries, while Hafsa contributed a 57-ball 66 with six fours and a six. HEC, in reply, managed to get 137-4 with Sana Urooj playing a fine innings of 64 from 55 deliveries while striking six fours and a six.

Wednesday’s results:

ZTBL beat PCB XI by seven wickets.

PCB XI 80 in 19.5 overs (Kainat Hafeez 23; Almas Akram 3-10); ZTBL 81-3 in 11 overs (Sana Mir 27 not out, Nida Dar 27).

SBP beat HEC by 30 runs.

SBP 167-1 in 20 overs (Sidra Amin 86 not out, Hafsa Khalid 66 not out); HEC 137-4 in 20 overs (Sana Urooj 64 not out, Khadija Chishty 28).
