HARIPUR: The first-ever Services and Facilitation Centre in Hazara division started functioning here the other day, additional deputy commissioner Baidullah Shah told journalists here.

The centre was inaugurated by Commissioner Hazara Syed Zaheer-ul-Islam at the office of deputy commissioner, Haripur.

Provincial minister for communications and works Akbar Ayub Khan, PTI leader Yousaf Ayub Khan, DDAC chairman Arshad Ayub Khan, assistant commissioners and officers of the district administration, line departments and elected representatives were in attendance.

Baidullah Shah said the centre was public-friendly step of the PTI government that would improve service delivery.

He said the staff deputed at the centre would provide the services like domicile, fard (proof of ownership of land), attested copies of mutation during the working hours.

During the second phase, the centre would provide the services like issuance of NOCs and arms and driving licenses.

The official said the staff would be bound to follow the delivery system defined under the Right to Services Act in letter and spirit as the purpose of the facility was to help the complainants get access to required services within shortest possible time.
