Pakistan has been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate against Australia in the fourth one-day international (ODI) between the two teams in Dubai yesterday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said on Saturday.

According to a media release issued by the ICC, Imad Wasim, who was the captain for the match, was also fined 20 per cent of his match fee.

As per the ICC, Jeff Crowe of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the fine after Pakistan was ruled to be short of its target after time allowances were taken into consideration.

"In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minor over-rate offences, players are fined 10 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount," the media release stated.

On Friday, Australia pulled off a sensational last-over, six-run win despite a debut hundred by Pakistan's Abid Ali and second career century by Mohammad Rizwan in the fourth ODI.

The win gave Australia a 4-0 lead in the series with the last match scheduled to be played in Dubai on Sunday.
