QUETTA: Opposition parties in the Balochistan Assembly on Monday alleged that the government had failed to fulfil the promises it made regarding releasing of development funds for the opposition members.

Speaking during the assembly session presided over by Speaker Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, Leader of the Opposition Malik Sikandar Khan said that despite the passage of almost eight months, the coalition government had not taken steps for welfare of people.

He said the government had failed to fulfil its promise with the opposition parties regarding release of development funds and thus lost the constitutional right to remain in power.

Malik Sikandar said the house had adopted various resolutions regarding the PSDP, NFC Award, drought, provision of drinking water and many other issues and the government constituted committees for implementation on these resolutions, but none of the committees had ever held its meeting.

Sanaullah Baloch, Mir Akhtar Hussain Langove, Aslam Raisani and Malik Naseer Ahmed also demanded that the resolution passed by the assembly be implemented.
