KARACHI: Two more quarter finals were decided in the ongoing NBP Pakistan Day basketball tournament being organized by Karachi Basketball Association in collaboration with NBP at Arambagh Basketball courts on Thursday.

In the first quarter final of the day, Omega Basketball Club easily overcame their tough opponents Binoria Basketball Club 59-36 to reach the semi final of the event. Taimur Zaheer led the team’s success with 17 points. Usman Khalid (15 points) and Abbas Qaimkhani (12 points) also contributed well. For the losing team, the main scorers were Syedi Ameen 10 points, Saiful 8 points and Jamshed 7 points.

In the second quarter final of the day, Nishter Club beat Mumbas Squad 49-42 in a close contest to reach the semis. For the winners main scorers were Talha Amjad (18 points), Ali Chenzeb 10 points and Muhammad Shabar ( 9 points).

For the losing team, the main scorers were Saad Khan who scored (17 points), Talha Khan (13 points) and Noman Khan 9 points.

Earlier, players of both teams were introduced to chief guest international basketball player Muhammad Javed Khan. KBBA president Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Abdul Nasir and Muhammad Yaqoob were also present on the occasion. The final of the tournament will be played on Saturday evening.
