QUETTA: The Balochistan government has banned all kinds of political functions in state-run colleges with immediate effect.

Official sources said the decision was taken in view of interference of political parties in educational institutions.

Director Colleges Rubaba Hameed Khan Durrani issued a directive on Thursday and asked the authorities concerned to strictly implement the decision. “All kinds of political and organisational functions are strictly banned in the educational institutions of Balochistan,” she said in a statement.

Ms Durrani said if the order was violated disciplinary action would be taken against the violator. “All principals of the colleges are directed to implement the instructions in letter and spirit,” she added.
