SIALKOT: After a long wait, the local literati finally got a place for holding literary events here.

Accepting the demand of local poets, writers and literature buffs, the district administration has announced establishment of the ‘Sialkot Tea House’ at the Anwar Club here.

The main purpose of establishing the place is to promote the literary activities in the city.

The district administration will officially inaugurate the Sialkot Tea House at a ceremony scheduled to be held here today (Thursday).

Local poets Ashfaq Niaz, Prof Ejaz Butt, Ayub Sabir, Rasheed Aafreen, Mehmoodul Hassan Shakir, Tajjamal Hussain and Syed Zahid Bukhari welcomed the decision to establish the ‘tea house’ in the city that had no proper place to hold literary events.
